A young man arrested for killing a woman and burned a body in Faro

The judicial police arrested Tuesday a 21-year-old boy suspected of assaulting and killing a 29-year-old woman.

"The judicial police, through the intermediary of the South Commission and in accordance with the arrest warrant issued by the Attorney General of the Faro – Loulé Police, identified and detained a man who allegedly perpetrated a crime. of murder ", reads in the release of PJ.

The man was beaten, tied up, gagged and killed a 29-year-old woman, leaving her body in a car that she set on fire.

The crime dates back to August 27, when a corpse was found "partially charred" in a car parked in an isolated area near Quarteira, Algarve.

"The 21-year-old detainee is unemployed, has a criminal record for violent crimes, and will attend the judicial interrogation to enforce coercive measures deemed appropriate," PJ said in a statement.
