The measure was approved by Setúbal City Council (majority of the CDU) for the second consecutive year as part of the "Municipal Strategy for an Affordable, Safe and Sustainable Mobility for All in Bathing Areas of Setúbal".
The document provides a set of restrictions on car traffic and a bet on the access to the beaches of Arrábida by public transport.
According to the plan, as soon as the parking capacity near the beaches is exhausted, vehicle access will be conditioned between Figueirinha beach and Creiro.
With this restriction, only residents, public transport and emergency vehicles are allowed to pass in case of an accident or fire in the Arrábida Massif.
