The municipality of Jundiaí discovers, preventively, an integrated work between several sectors of the administration to fight against arboviruses, diseases transmitted by Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Although Jundiaí does not record deaths from dengue, zika and chicungunya this year, the period of greatest vulnerability is approaching, with rains and high temperatures. In order to keep the indexes low and to sensitize the population, all management units, based on the Permanent Monitoring Group on Healthy Endemics, are carrying out actions aimed at eliminating the breeding sites of vectors transmitting diseases.
"The work is permanent but intensifying at this time of the year because of the climate.The awareness of the population and the initiatives that each unit can develop to avoid Aedes aegypti mosquito breeding sites are fundamental to that the city can go through the period with more tranquility.Dengue, chicungunya, zika and yellow fever are diseases that can kill, "said Fauzia Abbou Abas Raiza, director of health surveillance at the 39, Health Promotion Management Unit (UGPS).
According to the Bulletin of Epidemiological Surveillance (VE), between January and 23 November, 330 cases of dengue fever were reported in Jundiaí, 5 confirmed cases and no deaths. Last year, the number of notifications was 665, with 10 confirmed cases, no deaths. "The number of cases is low, but the mosquito is circulating and is more suitable.Today, we find Aedes aegypti larvae in puddles of dirty water.Therefore the people have to stay vigilant at home, in their businesses and in public buildings, "said Carlos Ozahata, head of the Zoonoses Surveillance Unit (UVZ).
The head of the management unit of the house, Gustavo Leopoldo Maryssael de Campos, stressed the need to involve the other municipalities of the Jundiaí agglomeration (AUJ) to contain the diseases. "These data and strategies for action should be passed on to other cities so that everyone is aware of the risks and does their part."
Next week, November 26-30, the federal government will host National Intersectoral Mobilization Week to fight Aedes Aegypti. This year, the activities for the period will be the dissemination of information not only among the population, but also among the agents of the organs.
