The municipal health department of Birigui begins Saturday, the 1st to the 11th campaign "Stay informed" to celebrate the month of December red and the World Day of the fight against AIDS.
Until 14 December, prevention and screening will be intensified in all UBS (basic health units) and in the CTA (testing and counseling center) located in the specialty center.
The "D-day" of the Be aware campaign will take place this Saturday, December 1st at the Center of Medical Specialties, which will be open to the public from 8:00 to 13:00. There will be rapid testing for HIV and syphilis.
The tests are indicated for people who have never been tested and have a sexually active life; had sex without condom use have or have had tuberculosis and hepatitis; have or have had an STI (sexually transmitted infection) syringes and needles were shared; and if you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant.
The early diagnosis of these diseases makes it possible to treat as quickly as possible, providing a cure for syphilis and controlling the disease in AIDS patients, promoting a better quality of life and preventing transmission to others.
Rapid tests are performed with a digital puncture (similar to a blood glucose test) and take about 30 minutes to get the results. For more information on the campaign, interested parties should call (18) 3643-6262.
