The text below has been published in the Brazilian PlayStation.Blog. If you did not see it yesterday, we had several details about the future of Destiny 2.

Watch out, Guardians. Black Armory is preparing to open its doors. A new end-of-game activity entitled "The Lost Forges" now accompanies it. We are as thirsty for news information about Destiny as any other Guardian. So we asked Evan Nikolich, Bungie's design director, who makes The Lost Forges special, and how this new activity fits into the Destiny 2 Endgame game once the secrets of Black Armory have been revealed.

What is the place of the Lost Forges in relation to the Destiny Activities? Is it something of the caliber of the iconic climbing protocol?

The Lost Forges were inspired by activities like Escalation Protocol and Blind Well. That said, we want to give more control over who you play with. So we added a new vector to coordinate your Fireteam. Lost Forges focuses on three-player teams. We allow players to always know what they are earning when they start fighting at Forges. This new challenge requires a little more coordination with the revolutionary relics that will be needed to charge Forge. As this is a predictable three-player activity, we think it would be nice to put something in addition to killing hordes of enemies to increase the challenge.

What was the inspiration for this new activity?

"[Queríamos] that the acquisition of objects was directly related to the actions of the players and less to random rewards .. "

From the beginning, we wanted this publication to deal with lost weapons and Golden Age's knowledge of Black Armory. In creating the activities, we are thinking of new and interesting ways to acquire weapons and equipment at Black Armory. We wanted to send players in the journey that would forge them. That the acquisition of objects is directly related to the actions of the players and less to random rewards. The forging process should be something that could be used again and again. Our goal was to create an experience that allows players to quickly create new strategies and feel rewarded every time.

What type of player is this content created in? Can low-level players come to help, or is it more of a Raid Lair or Nightfall queue?

The Lost Forges are a final activity. They start at a power level higher than the current maximum of 600. Players can go into single player mode while waiting for the matchmaking pool, but you will need to be at the appropriate power level to participate. Forges do not take as much time as a raid, but if a player is weak, it will be difficult. We expect to see players entering the first week, strategizing, gaining power and starting discussions on how best to face Forges. From the beginning, the goal of Lost Forges was to add to the ritual gameplay of the end of the Destiny game.

What kind of items will the players receive at Lost Forges? Top level articles?
Second part of the question: In the past, this type of activity possessed some of the most iconic weapons of (thinking of the Ikelos shotgun). This time, players will have something like that to hunt?

Players can find high level items in Forges, but not at the beginning. There will be a way to reach maximum power in the first few weeks, then maximum level Forges rewards. On emblematic weapons, we focus on a few key weapons to make them remarkable and fill a void in their arsenal. We are very excited about the future of machine guns and we are going to add a new exotic bow to the list, but I do not want to reveal everything. We want the community to explore the elements and have the final decision on the best elements.

So, in terms of comparison, are they similar to those of the Oryx Court, Archon's Forge or the Escalation Protocol? What has the development team learned from the past? How will it be different this time?

"We are trying something new by having the activity explicitly use the buddy system."

We learn that players like difficult final phase content that is easy to repeat and reach. All the content of the final phase does not have to be deferred as a raid or even a night strike. Something you can enter, accept the challenge and repeat is important for the Destiny ecosystem. We want The Lost Forges to fulfill that role.

Another thing we know that has caused some frustration in past events is that events in public spaces have not always resulted in desirable results in the automatic composition of fireteam. We are trying something new by making the activity explicitly using the buddy system. When a player enters, he will start looking for others to fill a team of three, knowing that he will receive a team of three and since we still know the size, we can do a little more complex activity.

How many players can participate in this activity?

Fireteams with three players is the target of this activity. If you have a team, we will do a p
for you in matchmaking.

How difficult will the challenges be? Will they change every week? Will the enemies or bosses change and will we have adjustments in Season 5?

At first, the content will be very difficult. Players will have little power and will need a lot of skill to finish the Forges. As players increase their power and develop their strategies, Forges will become easier to complete. His first encounters in the climbing protocol and Blind Well were very difficult. We expect something similar to Lost Forges.

Will the event take place in a public space like Escalation Protocol / Blind Well, or will it be instantiated? Can players participate in this outdoor activity?

It will not be in a public space. Forges exist in new spaces, hidden in places you know. Players will have to enter closed instances of three players with a team.

Season of the Forge started in Destiny 2: Forsaken, and the annual pass holder can begin to discover the secrets of the black arsenal and lost forges as of December 4.
