According to the president of the Association of Hospital Administrators, it will not be possible to suspend waiting times for surgeries, consultations and additional means of diagnosis, or debt to suppliers. According to Alexandre Lourenço, if one does not hire more or if one increases the budget to pay for new employees, hospitals will continue to accumulate debts and delays in the delivery of health care.

Given what happened, Alexandre Lourenço evaluates the health policy of the Ministry of Finance with one word: disastrous.

He admits that, on the part of the Ministry of Finance, there is "mistrust" and "prejudice" with regard to hospital directors. It therefore advocates the application of the status of the public manager, which is in force but is not applied, so that those who do not produce results are deleted.

Plus: In order to avoid constant capital injections, the Association of Hospital Administrators considers that non-conforming hospitals must be subject to some kind of "adjustment program" . Alexandre Lourenço estimates that there are about 12 problematic hospitals, with operating costs well below income and therefore requiring a specific intervention.
