This type of cancer is defined by the abnormal and uncontrolled growth of the cells that make up the skin. Because any cell in the tissue can cause the disease, there are several types of skin cancer. "The most common are basal cell carcinomas (BCC), accounting for 70% of diagnoses, and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), accounting for 25% of cases.Although it is the most accidental, the CBC is also the least aggressive", explains dermatologist Valéria Marcondes, a member of the Brazilian Society of Dermatology and the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD).
