When filing the first quarter results of the fiscal year, several shareholders questioned Blake Jorgensen, COO, and CFO of the company, about the possibility of dividing Battlefield V as it happens with Fortnite, that counts with Save the World paid (for already) and Battle Royale free. VG247) revealed that the battle of the new DICE will be maintained as a game mode, while EA is thinking of new free games for the future.

"We are interested in experimenting with an autonomous free-to-play game that could be a shooter or other genre," said Jorgensen. "But that's not how we look at Battlefield right now."

The executive said that one of the priority problems, and that Fortnite has already reached nearly 100 percent (we are watching you Sony), is how to provide a cross-play their titles. "The ability to bring your PC to mobile or mobile to the console can bring family and friends together, and we think that's an important part of our production profile in the future."

Battlefield V has a scheduled launch date of 19 October 2018 and will rely on a Battle Royale mode, although it is not certain that this one will be available in the launch.
