Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, in Maia, won the award for best European airport in 2018, in the category of 5 to 15 million passengers.
The ACI – Airports Council International Award is based on the questionnaires completed by passengers, which express opinions on the various services offered by the airport at the service level, waiting times, courtesy of staff , cleanliness and comfort.
The airport Francisco Sá Caneiro had already been awarded in 2017 the second prize in Europe in the category of more than 2 million passengers a year. Currently, it has direct links to 79 cities.
This is the 12th price received in the last 13 years. "It is with great pride that we once again knew that our passengers chose us as one of the best in Europe," said Thierry Ligonnière, Managing Director of ANA Aeroportos de Portugal.
"These awards are recognition of the work that the Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport team performs daily with passengers and all its partners," added Fernando Viera, director of the airport.
