Here is the longest eclipse of the 21st century!

The year of 2018 has several special astronomical events . In the summer we had two Full Moon Blue Moon, one in January and another in March, which will be repeated only in 19 years in 20137. The second full moon during a calendar month is called Full Moon Blue Moon. This is the most accepted definition of a Blue Moon and two Moons of the Blue Moon in the same year, as in 2018, occurs only 3 to 5 times in a century.

There was already a total lunar eclipse on January 31 and briefly between July 27 and 28, 2018, we will have another total eclipse of the Moon . But this second total lunar eclipse is long awaited because it is considered the longest eclipse of the 21st century ! The total duration will be 103 minutes and will be visible in many parts of the planet, including much of Brazil .

But an eclipse never occurs alone, isolated. Solar eclipses occur near lunar eclipses . In general, there are two consecutive eclipses, but up to three very close events can occur. The solar eclipse occurs about two weeks before or two weeks after a lunar eclipse.

Total lunar eclipse of 27/28 July 2018

Europe and South America: anyone in the United States, Canada , Greenland, Mexico and most parts of Central America will see no phase of this eclipse.
