The Lisbon City Council (CML) has just launched an awareness campaign entitled "Stop HIV is in our hands". The goal is to educate the population about the prevention and transmission of the AIDS virus.
The campaign is the result of the initiative "Lisbon, a city without AIDS", resulting from a collaboration between the LMC and the Treatment Activists Group, with the support of the General Directorate of Health. Health, Regional Health Administration of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo. and other associations and entities working in the field of HIV and AIDS.
This campaign aims essentially to "increase the knowledge of the population of the city of Lisbon in terms of prevention and transmission of HIV", as well as "increase the visibility of the issue of HIV and AIDS", says the communiqué sent to Lusa.
The campaign, which will be published on posters, leaflets and videos, is divided into four themes: "infection screening, pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), post-exposure prophylaxis and undetectable = non-communicable". In turn, each theme has its "real character who reflects his experience and emphasizes the importance of the theme".
The videos will be made public on the official website of the campaign and CML, as well as on social networks. The leaflets will be distributed in strategic locations in the city.
For Manuel Grilo, LMC social rights advisor, "It is crucial to increase the visibility of the HIV problem and to encourage people to do regular screenings".
