The pharmaceutical company was also sentenced to four years and ten months, suspended for the same period, for offenses of active bribery, falsification of documents and fraud.
The third accused, husband of the pharmacist and the electrician by profession, was sentenced for the same crimes to four years and three months in prison, also suspended. Each of these two accused will have to pay 25,000 euros to ARS.
The pharmacy in Chamusca County, Santarém district, where the drugs not purchased have been billed, was sentenced to the 300-day ancillary penalty at a rate of 100 euros.
For the court of Leiria did not prove the loss of 657 808.17 euros to the National Health Service (SNS), which appeared in the indictment of the Attorney General.

In reading the judgment, the judge pointed out that the doctor had admitted that all the prescriptions prescribed by him at the Caldas da Rainha hospital had not been preceded by a medical act, "and that They had not been lifted by the respective beneficiaries ".
The doctor "admitted most of the facts, he simply did not admit the proceeds of his private clinic," said the judge, noting that in case of doubt, the defendants could not be convicted.
According to the MP's order, "at least between September 2010 and December 2013", the defendants "acted together, in a concerted and organized manner", in order "to obtain significant illegitimate patrimonial benefits resulting fraudulent obtaining of reimbursements of medicines paid by the SNS ".
The pharmacist and her husband called on the clinician – who agreed – to "issue counterfeit medical prescriptions with prescription drugs that they would later treat by simulating their delivery" at this pharmacy.
