Mato Grosso records a 79% increase

Mato Grosso has a 79% increase in the number of dengue cases and is at high risk of developing the disease. This year, 3 deaths have been confirmed and two are under investigation.

According to the epidemiological bulletin of the State Secretariat for Health (SES), 12,325 cases of dengue fever were recorded until 27 July. Last year, 6,868 notifications were notified during the same period.

"State at high risk of epidemic"

The figures indicate that the incidence of previous cases was 205 cases in a group of 100,000. Now this rate has risen to 368 cases. Sinop (500 km north of Cuiabá) is the municipality where the risk is highest.

In the city were 1,368 notifications in 2019. In the previous year, 354. The increase is 286%. The incidence went from 260 cases to 1,006 per 100,000 inhabitants. Rondonópolis, meanwhile, presents a medium risk, despite the variation of 541%.

In 2018, there were 96 registrations, compared to 616 this year. Despite their high numbers, deaths in both municipalities have not been confirmed or investigated. Confirmations were made at Confresa, Primavera do Leste and São Félix do Araguaia.

The expected results were those of Alto Araguaia and Canarana. Grand Cuiabá has a low risk of developing dengue fever. In Cuiabá, according to the bulletin, 384 cases have been reported this year. In Várzea Grande, 54.

Last year, there were 1,283 and 1,480 notifications in the respective municipalities. For other diseases caused by Aedes aegypti, risks in Mato Grosso are low and records have decreased compared to 2018.

There is no medium or high risk city. Chikungunya had a 95% reduction in cases. This year, there were 652 notifications and, in 2018, 13,006. Zika had a 69% lower discount, dropping from 870 registrations last year to 269 in 2019.
