An epidemiological bulletin published Tuesday (27) by the Ministry of Health reveals that between 2007 and June 2018, nearly 250,000 cases of HIV infection were reported in Brazil. According to the document, 73% of new cases of HIV infection in Brazil are men aged 15 to 39 years.
In 2017, the decline in mortality from illness was the strongest. For the Ministry of Health, this reduction is due to the introduction of cocktails and drugs post-exposure and pre-exposure to anti-HIV drugs, as well as to the improvement of the diagnosis through quick tests in the SUS.
As part of the municipal program for World AIDS Day, which takes place on December 1, the Municipal Health Secretariat is offering rapid HIV testing in Luz, 4-Yellow, Capão Redondo and Campo Limpo, line 5- Lilac.
