As we announced in April, Millennium BCP will also start charging MB WAY transfers. According to the bank's information, these fees are already starting today and the prices are not at all friendly.
Millennium BCP joins Banco BPI in collecting MB WAY transfers, but more and more banks will follow suit.
MB WAY is the Multibanco solution for online and in-store shopping, creating MBNET cards, using MULTIBANCO boxes, sending money and sharing accounts with your friends.
Users use this service at zero cost, something that changes. After BPI announced that it would bill the service, Millenium BCP announced its intention to follow the same path, but the commissions are not friendly.
MB WAY downloads at 1,248 euros
As of June 17, if you are a BCP customer, you will have to pay 0.52 euro for the transfer. The operation is performed via the bank application or 1,248 euros if you use the official MB WAY application.
The bank has already revealed customers who would be exempt, especially those with a "frequent customer" account - see right here.
According to DECO, the prices applied to a single operation on the MB WAY mobile app are disproportionate. On average, the consumer can pay up to € 1.50 to transfer an amount, € 2, € 10 or € 750 (maximum limit allowed by the application).
Santander will also charge
According to the information, the Santander Bank is expected to be the next bank to charge commissions for MB WAY transfers. It is unclear when the bank will start charging for such transfers.
