The National Association of Portuguese Municipalities (ANMP) today approved sectoral diplomas for health, port transport and passenger transport on inland waterways as part of the decentralization process.

The association "today issued a favorable opinion on these three sectoral degrees in the final version," announced the ANMP president, Manuel Machado, stressing that, in this way, "this process is almost complete in the context of administrative decentralization ".

This process, added Manuel Machado, who met today with journalists, after attending Coimbra, at ANMP headquarters, at a meeting of the council of 39, administration of the Association, is characterized by a dialogue, an exchange of views, confrontation of opinions ".

"The decree-law of the parishes is not yet consensual" and the diploma relating to the field of social action, on which the Association of Municipalities expects "some specifications" that were "required" of the government, recalled Manuel Machado.

The Decree Law on fire safety in buildings was already "consensual" but has not yet been approved by the Council of Ministers.

The other sectoral diplomas have already been approved by the government and the decrees on the beaches and the related gambling modalities have been published today in the Diário da República.

Overall, as part of the process of decentralizing skills to the benefit of local communities, sectoral diplomas were approved on the organization of local authority services, community policing, games of chance, investment / management. projects financed by European funds, promotion of tourism, beaches, justice, housing, protection and civil protection, animal health and food safety.

Among the 21 diplomas approved, there are also those related to citizen service structures, roads, culture, heritage, social action, public parking, education, health, protected areas, port areas and passenger transport on the tracks. navigable.
