Uberlândia has confirmed 14 dengue deaths, according to the Epidemiological Bulletin published yesterday by the Department of Health of Minas Gerais (SES-MG). Increased cases of dengue fever – The probable cases of dengue continue to increase in several cities of Triangulo Mineiro, Alto Paranaíba and northwestern Minas Gerais. Across the state, up to Monday (27), 341,603 probable cases of the disease were recorded (confirmed + suspected cases).
Very high incidence – According to data from the Epidemiological Bulletin, the incidence of dengue fever is very high in 64 municipalities of Triangulo Mineiro, Alto Paranaíba and North-West Minas Gerais. It's five more than the previous week.
Uberlândia, with 37,848 probable cases of the disease, remains the commune with the highest incidence in the region. The increase was nearly 112% compared to the bulletin of May 21, while the city had 17,853 cases.
To intensify the fight against Aedes aegypti, Uberlândia will count on 201 other new agents to fight against zoonoses. According to the publication published in a notice to the second official newspaper of the town hall, candidates will be hired for a fixed term.
Then, Uberaba appears, with 5,131 probable cases of dengue, 18 more cases than last week. On Tuesday, the Municipal Health Department (SMS) confirmed that three deaths due to an alleged dengue fever are currently under investigation in Uberaba. Still according to the SMS, 6,638 suspected cases of the disease were reported in the city; 491 diagnoses were positive.
chikungunya – in Minas Gerais, 2,014 probable cases of chikungunya have been recorded; Of this total, 54 are pregnant, including four with laboratory confirmation so far. Until now, no presumed deaths of chikungunya have been reported.
Zika – There were 987 probable cases of zika in 2019 in Minas Gerais, of whom 374 were pregnant women. Probable cases of zika in pregnant women were recorded in 72 municipalities, including Uberlândia (29 cases), Araguari (13 cases), Ituiutaba and Uberaba (9 cases).
