Play Store competitor files anti-trust lawsuit against Google in Europe

Although Google does not recommend this practice, in Android, it is possible to download apps from stores other than the official Play Store. Users may choose to use other application stores of their choice, but they are aware that such applications may contain threats – after all, they have not gone through the giant's trusteeship and do not wear the Play Protect tag

. Android Advantage: Allows you to install apps other than the Play Store. But Google has tightened its measures against applications that could be considered dubious, and ended up signaling a competing store – Aptoide – as malicious.

Aptoide now files an antitrust complaint against Google on European Commission dedicated to this type of case. According to the alternative application store, Google Play Protect would advise users to uninstall this application store from their devices, stating that the program could offer malicious apps. To make matters worse, all those who chose to keep Aptoide installed saw that the store would no longer work, these users being prevented from downloading apps there.

According to Aptoide, whose head office is in Portugal, Google would behave in an anti-competitive manner by deliberately preventing Android users from using their store because it was marked as unsecure.
