As you've probably already read, the beta phase of the Red Dead Redemption 2 online component is underway, but Rockstar has stated that the progress made by the players might not be permanent.

The company posted a message on its website detailing the beta launch process, stating that "we expect the progress of all players during this initial beta phase to remain intact over the long term."

"However, like a lot of large-scale online experience bets, we still have the ability to apply rankings or other statistics to reboot in case of a problem," Rockstar said.

Rockstar says that "it could take several weeks or months," the producer wants to create a "complete, fun and fully functional" experience.

The beta version was launched yesterday, November 27, for players who bought the ultimate edition of Red Dead Redemption 2. Today, players who started playing the game on October 26 will have access to the beta version. Tomorrow, it will be the turn of players who started their adventure between October 26 and 29 and finally, Friday, the beta will be available to all players who bought the game.

According to Rockstar, this progressive beta is intended to "allow servers and systems to progressively deal with a larger player base".

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
