Personnel costs increased from 60.3 million to 62.1 million, while the cost of chartering aircraft to other airlines nearly doubled from five million to nine million euros.

The Sata Group's equity also continues to decline, now standing at 133m, while the carrier's liabilities have increased from 254 million euros to 286 million euros and the debts to suppliers have increased. from 45 million euros to 55 million euros.

From 160.7 to 167.1 million euros in just one year

In the message accompanying the accounts report, the former chairman of the group SATA Paulo Menezes, who was replaced in his office last Saturday, admits that the results of 2017 were "prejudiced" by "several operational constraints", but he nonetheless said he was convinced that "the future will be favorable ".

The regional government of the Azores, which oversees the airline, has decided to dismiss Paulo Menezes from the management of the SATA group over the weekend, naming António Luís Gusmão Teixeira, director of the companies at the position.
