Divinópolis will soon adopt an emergency plan to combat the spread of the mosquito Aedes aegypti, a transmitter of dengue, Zika virus and chikungunya.
The plan with the actions to be adopted in 2019 has been given to the government of Minas Gerais, according to a report of the city council published Wednesday (28).
During the year, the incidence of probable cases of dengue fever was low in the city. The city has also received a notification of the Zika virus. In the region, however, five deaths have been confirmed by dengue fever.
In a statement, the municipal health department (Semusa) said that actions to prevent and fight the mosquito Aedes aegypti are permanent.
Among the measures adopted include the officer visits, cleaning efforts, lectures and educational actions of the environmental education team and the blocking of dengue through the application of smoke in suspected places.
The secretariat also indicated that it would continue to use a drone to intensify the work of the agents and control epidemics.
