Masahiro Sakurai, director of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, explained in his magazine column Famitsu the reason of Kirby to be the only survivor in World of Light, the adventure mode of the game. According to Sakurai, the character had to have a capacity that would justify his escape.
Kirby has his Star of chain, which allows him to travel very quickly, escaping the mysterious rays of light that attacked other fighters. In addition, Sakurai says that Kirby is a simpler gameplay character, making the beginning of World of Light quieter.
There is also a third reason: Sakurai was also the creator of Kirby and admitted that he was slightly "club" in choosing the first playable character in story mode.
The director explains that characters such as Bayonetta and Palutena could not escape with their powers because their allies had become Spirits (mysteriously Spirits), in addition to being a bit more complicated to control yourself.
Sakurai talks in her column about some of the technical aspects of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: The game will support the recording of your replays, but the director warns players to keep an eye on the file size. The game will receive an update the day of its launch to make the final adjustments.
Finally, the director reveals that players will receive an Advanced class sticker when starting the Spirits mode. It can be fun to see the available options for the available stickers.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate comes exclusively for Nintendo Switch December 7th.
