The Dermatology Department of the Clinic Hospital of Ribeirão Preto Medical School (FMRP), USP, in partnership with the Brazilian Society of Dermatology, will host the population for orientation, treatment and treatment cases of skin cancer.
No reference is required, it is sufficient that the interested party shows up on December 2 from 8 am to 2 pm at the HCRP Outpatient Clinic, on the campus of the USP. The address is Avenida Bandeirantes, 3900, in the western area of the city.
In 25 years of campaigning, the medical center consulted more than 7,000 people, with a positive diagnosis for about 14% of the people examined. This year, the campaign coordinator in Ribeirão Preto, Professor Cacilda da Silva Souza, plans to assist around 500 people.
December Orange
The campaign is part of Orange's December, promoted by the Brazilian Society of Dermatology – SBD. About four thousand dermatologists in Brazil will join forces to cure and clear up the disease. Consultations will be held free of charge at 132 service stations in several states.
Case in Brazil
A survey conducted by the National Cancer Institute indicates that the estimated number of new skin cancers other than melanoma will decrease by 10,000 cases compared to the 2016/2017 biennium for the fiscal year biennium 2018-2019.
But much more needs to be done in prevention. Skin cancer is what the most
occurs in Brazil and accounts for 30% of all malignancies registered in the country. For the 2018/2019 biennium, there are an estimated 165,580,000 new cases of non-melanoma skin cancer.
Another new data from this period is that, compared to the latest estimate of Inca (2016/2017), the disease will affect more men (85 170 000) than women (80 410 000).
