The public accusation was made by Chris Peterson, head of technical programming at Mozilla, in his Twitter profile. In the same message, Peterson explains that this happens because of the way the site's design was done. It uses an API (application programming interface) optimized for Chrome only and being developed for other browsers.
Peterson clarifies that the test speed has resulted in a loading time of 1 second by loading YouTube on Chrome for 5 seconds in Firefox.
For now, Peterson informs us that the solution is to install an add-on, as they are called browser applications in Firefox, called YouTube Classic, which brings users to an earlier version Google's video site, but is faster than the current site. The slowness also affects the Microsoft Edge browser, Windows 10, but its correction requires more technical knowledge ( see here ).
