Death is unfortunately a fact of life for pose'The ball community' – and they had to say goodbye to one of theirs in this week's devastating episode.
At the last ball, while Pray Tell celebrates the phenomenal success of Madonna's "Vogue" – "We changed the culture, everyone!" – it's interrupted by the arrival of Candy, who wears a Material Girl wig . bra cone. "That slut again," Pray Tell moaned, pounding Candy with harsh insults as usual. She defends herself, but the judges with Pray Tell, hitting her with pitiful scores – including a zero. She goes away, but later confronts Pray Tell at a summit of local prom leaders, demanding that they include a lip sync category. When Pray Tell closes her, she holds a knife in her throat (!) And throws a few objects at him before moving away again. So yes, things are not great between them.
But at the next ball, Blanca finds Lulu crying: Candy is missing. In recent times she has been making tricks to make money. Blanca and Lulu go to her usual motel to pick her up, to be refused by the director. Later, Blanca receives a call and announces the bad news to Lulu: Candy is dead. (A motel maid found her body beaten in a closet.) Nurse Judy helps convince a hospital administrator to return the body. Candy's parents will not even show up at the funeral. They will then see the awful wig The funeral director gave to poor Candy, they gave her a last glamorous transformation.
A prayer message shaken its address to people grieving at the funeral, admitting that Candy was "a pain in my fucking black ass … but she was still my sister". (He also refuses to take AZT to fight his white blood cell count, preferring "a more holistic approach" to half-cooked home remedies.) He would like Candy to be always there, so that he can give her the most Great and most brilliant for his contribution to our community, and promise him to fight for her against intolerant people like the man who brutally attacked her. When he's finished, he hears a voice that says, "I forgive you." That's Candy, who appears in a vision to share laughter and tears with Pray Tell, who admits that he got her because she represented "everything I did." I tried to hide when I go out into the world. "So they make peace … even if it's beyond the grave.
Candy's ghost also appeared at the funeral, encouraging Angel to pursue a modeling career and reminding Lulu of all the good times together. (This, however, is only after a grieving woman Lulu calls Candy "a stealing bitch" and steals gloves and a brooch from her corpse.) She even finds common ground with her parents, who finally show up for the funeral. they always bristle in the name of "Candy" – her mother always calls Candy her "son" – they reach a new agreement that is rather charming. Pray Tell states that from now on, each ball will have a lip sync category called "Candy Chorus", and Candy will get one last whim in a merry fantasy sequence that will see her sync with "Never Laugh." Knew's love like that before "At the ball, being showered with smiles and praises – and ten francs and a trophy!
All the ordeal reminds Pray Tell that life is precious – "I do not want to go into my coffin with no regrets" – and so he takes his first AZT pill with Blanca. They are toasting: "To life." And, as the final title reminds us, the fight for life is far from over: it is said that more than 1,000 transgender and non-conformist people were murdered in around the world ever since. 2016
