Possible reason WWE didn’t take Jimmy Uso off TV

Jimmy Uso was arrested Monday night in Pensacola, Fla., For impaired driving after allegedly blowing a .205 on a breathalyzer after being pulled over for speeding and red light. WWE has yet to release an official statement on the matter and Uso appeared on this week’s show. Friday night SmackDown multiple times for segments involving Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Edge and the Mysterios. And other than a passing comment from Jey, there was no mention of the incident.

Unfortunately, this was not the first time that Uso found himself in trouble with the law. He was charged with impaired driving in 2011, arrested for driving with a suspended license in 2013, reached a plea deal with prosecutors, and did not plead any challenges for interfering with a government employee in 2019 (after that his wife was arrested by police in Detroit) and was re-arrested in DUI in 2019, but was later found not guilty.

Dave Meltzer explained the situation in a recent episode of Radio wrestling observer, saying, “There are things in the plans that they think are way too important and they don’t want it messed up and that’s the answer.” He then speculated on whether Reigns had defended him or whether WWE wanted to “screw up” his future plans for Reigns’ Universal Championship reign. The episode saw The Usos officially realigning with Reigns, and then talked about beating Rey and Dominik Mysterio to become seven-time Tag Team Champions.

Reigns’ title reign has already eclipsed 300 days and is said to be in future programs with John Cena (this year Slam summer) and Dwayne Johnson (i.e. WrestlingMania 38 or 39). He will face Edge at Money in the bank pay-per-view one week from today.
