The Pokémon Company will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its Catchable Monsters with a virtual concert titled by Post Malone, the company said in a trailer Thursday morning.
Fans can tune in on February 27, Pokémon Day, to see a digitized Post Malone honoring the Pokémon fandom – and the Pokémon themselves. The Post Malone Virtual Show will begin at 7 p.m. EST. Fans will be able to watch it through the Pokémon YouTube and Twitch channels, as well as the 25th anniversary website.
“I’ve been a Pokémon fan for a long time,” Post Malone said in a press release. “So the opportunity to be on the front page of the Pokémon Day concert celebrating 25 years is great.
Post Malone’s concert will also kick off the Pokémon Company’s P25 Music program, where it plans to partner with artists like Katy Perry to create new music “through the Pokémon lens,” the company said.
Before the concert, on February 20, Pokémon Go players can log into the Tour: Kanto event. On the 25th, fans will be able to get a password from the Pokémon company to download a special type of Pikachu to their Pokemon Sword & Shield files. This Pikachu comes to know Sing, who is atypical of the electric type Pokémon. And fans can watch a marathon of music-themed Pokémon animated series on Pokémon TV ahead of the February 27 concert.
Pokémon fans can also look forward to additional announcements before and after Post Malone’s concert, the Pokémon Company said.
