A Slack outage on the first Monday of 2021 causes disruption for remote workers who rely on the platform to send messages and video chats with colleagues. This was particularly important during the Covid pandemic.
Slack shares were down around 0.7% late Monday morning.
In September 2019, its stock fell 14% after the Quarterly Earnings Report found Slack suffered a $ 8.2 million revenue impact due to customer credits after service level disruptions. . Loans help businesses cover their future bills.
Salesforce announced on December 1 that it was buying Slack for more than $ 27 billion.
Slack’s status dashboard shows that there are issues with messaging and connections, but doesn’t specify the cause of the issues or when chat should return to normal. The outage apparently started around 10 a.m. ET.
In an update on the 11:20 ET outage, Slack said, “We are continuing to investigate connection issues for customers, and have upgraded the incident on our end to reflect a service outage. All hands are on deck on our end to investigate further. “
