The neighbors of the lottery winners tend to go bankrupt
Time
A North Carolina man discovered Tuesday that he had won a $ 344.6 million jackpot, the biggest prize in the state's history.
Charles W. Jackson Jr., a 66-year-old retiree from Raleigh, said that when he called his wife that morning to tell him about his victory, he did not realize how much he had won.
"I said," I think I won at least $ 50,000, "Jackson said at a press conference at the North Carolina lottery headquarters in Raleigh.
Shortly after, Jackson realized that he had actually matched the six numbers to win the grand prize.
"So, I called her back and said," Look, I've won everything, "Jackson said. She said, "Well, how much does it cost? "I said," I do not know, I just play. I do not know what it is. "And she said," Google that. "
The secret of his good fortune? Figures from a fortune cookie that her daughter-in-law obtained a few years ago at the age of 6, according to The News & Observer.

Jackson said that he had played those same five numbers in Powerball and Mega Millions every week since, occasionally modifying the sixth number.
The chances of correctly choosing the six numbers and winning the jackpot are of the order of 1 out of 292.2 million.
"I did not expect to win," Jackson said. "I was just lucky."
He chose to receive his earnings in a lump sum payment of $ 233 million. After deducting federal taxes and state and US taxes, he will receive $ 158 million, which he plans to donate to three charities – the Wounded Warrior Project, Shriners Children's Hospital and the hospital. St. Jude Research Center.
In addition to that and a trip to Vietnam, from where his wife comes, he has no extravagant project for his new fortune.
"I hope it will not change me much," Jackson said. "I will try not to change my life, I will always wear jeans, maybe a newer one."
