PowerColor Radeon RX 6800 XT Red Devil overclocked and tested

PowerColor recently revealed that the Radeon RX 6800 XT Red Devil monster has been put to the test by Thai tech store ExtremeIT (via Videocardz). The graphics card is PowerColor’s flagship offering and will feature an insane three-slot, three-fan design that we’ve detailed here.

The YouTuber gained access to the PowerColor Radeon RX 6800 XT Red Devil but posted some test results ahead of the card’s embargo being lifted which is expected to take place in a few days. That said, the Red Devil comes in a limited edition flavor and only 1000 units are produced as stated by the label on the backplate.

As for the test, the Radeon RX 6800 XT Red Devil was overclocked to a blistering 2800 MHz clock speed, but the overclocking was not stable. The GPU was then configured for a more conservative clock speed of 2.65 GHz, which is still 310 MHz higher than its factory out-of-the-box 2340 MHz overclock when overloaded. Memory has also been boosted to 2150 MHz, which equates to 17.2 Gbps for an effective memory bandwidth of 550 GB / s.

A few games were tested but the most interesting benchmark was the 3DMark Fire Strike running with the 2.65 GHz overclock. The Radeon RX 6800 XT Red Devil scored an impressive 56,756 points in the benchmark, which is close to the world record of 59,606 points.

Note that we are comparing the graphical score and not the overall score because test setups vary a lot in terms of setups. The world record was also achieved on a 2.65 GHz clock on air and using the benchmark cooler. This shows that with LN2 the RX 6800 XT can definitely beat clocks from 2.9 to 3.0 GHz, which is an incredible achievement for AMD’s Big Navi GPU.

Another interesting aspect of the card is its ability to keep up with the insanely high clock speed that the Red Devil has to offer. The Radeon RX 6800 XT Red Devil hovered around 55-56C with 2.6 GHz + boost clocks with 100% fan speed. Even with the baseline profile, temperatures hovered around 65 ° C.

As for the Red Devil, the graphics card is expected to launch around a week or two (November 25) after the launch of the Radeon RX 6800 XT and RX 6800 series so prices and specs can be released later.
