Amazon has launched its latest wave of Echo smart speakers, a new Amazon smart thermostat, health and fitness group Halo View, and a slew of other sound devices. product launch by invitation only Tuesday. Amazon is once again targeting Google, Apple, Ecobee and others as it fights for a place in your heart and home. But the biggest revelation was Astro, the new intelligent robot from Amazon which will be available starting at $ 1,000 (more below). You can register today to receive an invitation; Astro will ship later this year.

Together, the devices include bigger screens, more personalization, additional privacy settings, and facial recognition. The product launch also included a new line of Ring security products. Astro can follow you around your home on wheels and respond to voice commands.

Astro is a new robot that brings AI to your home. You can sign up to request an invite today and Astro will ship later this year. It’s an adorable robot that follows voice commands and keeps an eye on your house with its periscope camera. Astro can display a live view through the mobile app, so you can check out your home while you are away. Astro works with Alexa Together and Ring Protect Pro, and comes with a six-month free trial of the latter. But Amazon isn’t sacrificing privacy with this home robot. Astro comes with these features:

Amazon’s thermostat supports voice commands and scheduled routines.

Amazon has partnered with Honeywell Home to create an Energy Star certified smart thermostat that competes with Nest. Most customers can get the thermostat for free after utility discounts. It’s an Alexa-compatible thermostat that takes care of routines and automatically adjusts temperatures. It’s available for pre-order now and will ship from November 4th. Here are some of the main features you can expect:

  • Control the thermostat using the Alexa app or voice commands
  • An energy dashboard to break down your usage on your Echo device or the Alexa app
  • Hunches thermostat to automatically adjust the temperature

Amazon’s new Echo Show is larger than the newer models. Now it comes with a 15.6-inch display and is only available in one color: black. However, you can wall mount it or place it on a stand. The newer model now has facial recognition for personalized alerts and more when the hub recognizes your face, further increasing competition with Apple. It also comes with custom to-do lists, like Google’s Hub Max. But the Echo Show 15 comes with a few highly anticipated features.

  • Custom sounds that allow Alexa to listen to specific noises in your home
  • Visual ID to give you more personalized calendars and reminders
  • Customizable Alexa widgets

Amazon Glow lets families connect digitally with games, lessons, and video calling.

This kid friendly Amazon smart device is brand new and should not be confused with the Echo Glow. It has a large 14-inch screen and a projector that projects an interactive image onto a silicone mat. Kids can play games, read books and more, all during video calls with contacts selected by their parents. Exceptionally, Alexa is not present here. You can request an invitation to the Glow program today.

Amazon announces Astro, Ring, Echo Show, Glow robot

The Halo View has an AMOLED color display.

The Halo View is a new addition to Amazon’s Halo family. It is now equipped with a touch screen. Halo Nutrition and Halo Fitness will be included in the Halo membership to promote healthy eating and movement. It promotes the Halo in a number of ways, including movement, emotional tone, and camera body scans. Plus, it still works with the original Halo group.
