Predictions, rumors, leaks and more

Either way, it’s almost the end of August, a month that has passed so quickly that I hardly even noticed.

PS4 gamers enjoyed a great month of free PS Plus games this month, with both Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered and Fall guys Free for subscribers.

Fall guys quickly became the new blockbuster sensation, dominating streaming sites and capturing the love (and frustration) of gamers around the world.

I even broadcast the game with my family. Watch a highlight here:

Now, with only one week in August, we can start speculating on the likely PS Plus games for September.

Typically, free PS Plus games are announced on the last Wednesday of the month, which would be Wednesday, August 26. However, this hasn’t been so consistent recently. Last month’s games didn’t even come out on the same day.

Still, if long-term trends hold, we should expect an announcement on Wednesday. In the meantime, let’s talk about what we think we see and what we want to see.

As of yet, no games have been released for PS Plus, although I will update this article if that changes before Wednesday. With leaks or rumors, all we can do is predict. So let’s do it.

September 2020 PS Plus Predictions and Wish List

As I type in the predictions below, I realize that many are more of the ‘wishlist’ variety – and not so much because I want the game personally, but because I want others to play some of it. between them – and less are “because that makes sense.” Then again, the way Sony releases these, I’m not sure there’s a lot of “meaning” involved half the time.

Watch Dogs 2 – Watch Dogs Legion will be released later this year, so it would make sense for Sony to advertise the latest game in the series. It’s something they do quite regularly. With a release date of October 29, a free September game makes sense.

Mafia III – Same logic here. Mafia remastered lands in September (look for my preview soon) and it would make sense to some hype for this game when it comes out Mafia III for PS Plus subscribers. I know it wasn’t the best open world / GTA style game never made but loved the setting and the way it combated racism. A very timely PS Plus option.

Fire watch – He is the founding pretender of PS Plus. It’s just a perfect option for a free game. It’s short. It’s a walking simulator. That’s wonderful. This would make a good “second” option with a larger main version.

Days Gone – The Ugly Duckling from PS4 Exclusives I really enjoyed Days gone a little. It is far from perfect. It has some “generic zombie apocalypse / generic lead” issues. But it’s a good game and more people should be playing it.

Tony Hawk 1 + 2 Remastered – No, as I type this I realize that it comes out too late in the month. Even if there was a slim chance (and there wasn’t), it negates him as a candidate. But hey, I’m excited for this one and want to talk more about it!

Dark Souls Remastered – It has been a while since the Dark souls remaster is out. It’s a top notch remaster of one of the greatest games ever made and, again, more people should be playing it. Everyone should play it. It was a “leaked” PS + game earlier this year. It could be real this time around!

Uncharted: Lost Legacy – Another great option for a PS Plus freebie, Uncharted: Legacy Lost is – if I’m not mistaken – the only one Unexplored game that has not yet been released on PS Plus. It is not a “complete” game, but it is a much smaller game Unexplored title with women in place of Nathan Drake. It would be a good game to release after all the Naughty Dog / The Last of Us Part II controversial.

Black Ops 4 – I mean, alright, a lot of Call of Duty the games were released on PS Plus recently so it seems unlikely and maybe gamers wouldn’t be happy about it, but Black Ops – Cold War is coming out in October (probably) and it wouldn’t hurt to release this game to generate some hype ahead of time. It is only multiplayer and has Blackout, a really good battle royale mode, and it would be nice to see more players joining the servers. Again, this would potentially steer players away from the new game and Warzone so don’t count on it.

Nier Automata – A very strange, very good, very unique action game, Nier Automata deserves all the players he can get. Why not make the first PS + release next month?

Marvel’s Spider-Man – No, I don’t think it’s likely. But Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a launch title on PS5 and the PS5 will apparently release in the next few months, so it’s possible, although I suspect that if it lands on PS Plus, it will be later in the month. year.

Resident Evil 7 – With Resident Evil 8 slated for a next gen release in 2021, there’s never been a better time to release Resident Evil 7 for free on PS Plus. There will be a better time in the future, however. Closer to the release date of the next game! So don’t count on it.

Oh and Resident Evil 8 is in fact Resident Evil Village (a play on Roman numerals VIII) and the trailer is pretty awesome:

These are my predictions / wishlist games and I’m sure I’m totally wrong. I doubt we have God of the war or Spider Man as a free-to-play game, although it wouldn’t be a bad time to give either of those out, especially God of the war. I do not imagine Spider Man will be released for free so soon, but with the Miles Morales game run on PS5 it is possible.

What do you want to see on PS Plus in September (and beyond)? Let me know about Twitter or Facebook.
