Premier League Weekly Team for 90min – Day 6

A remarkable 31 goals were scored on day six, as the season continued with another week of major implications for many of the best teams.

Manchester City scored eight to eight against hopeless Watford, Liverpool maintained their lead at the top with a win at Chelsea, while Manchester United and Tottenham were beaten to defeat.

Here is the 90min week team for the 6th day.

Goalkeeper and defenders

Adrian (GK) – Alisson's injury could be a blow for Liverpool, but his deputy, Adrian, has re-entered this season, making several eye-catching saves and staying compound under pressure. After losing to Napoli in the Champions League, the Spaniard pushed Tammy Abraham very close at the start of his victory over Chelsea. That turned out to be crucial, as the Reds quickly started a two-goal, unassailable lead.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB) – A wonderfully whipped free-throw shot put Alexander-Arnold among the good books of many FPL leaders. These performances certainly do not go unnoticed and after a year behind Harry Maguire in the hierarchy, Soyuncu is making a name for himself.

Nicolas Otamendi (BC) – After a terrible performance against Norwich last week, Otamendi responded by scoring a goal and a clean sheet in Manchester City's stunning win over Watford. While critics continue to suggest that his place in the team is threatened, such a performance could give Pep Guardiola confidence to stay true to the age of 31. A tribute to Fernandinho too, who seemed very comfortable in an unnatural position for him.

Aaron Cresswell (LB) – It was a good day for side defensemen scoring free throws, while Cresswell completed a ripe performance in West Ham's victory over Manchester United. Arthur Masuaku's red card last Monday would have worried Hammers fans because Cresswell was elected in place of United, but he let Andreas Pereira and Aaron Wan-Bissaka shut up before clinching second goal of his team.

Kevin De Bruyne (MRC) – What more can the maestro of Man City say? These matches at Etihad are the daily bread of De Bruyne. They regularly train his teammates and are the linchpin of one of the most ingrained teams in the history of English football. With seven assists in the Premier League already this season, the Belgian could beat the record of Thierry Henry, 20.

James Maddison (LCM) – The Spurs may regret not having followed their previous interest in Maddison after putting them to the service of the sword on Saturday. The 22-year-old had a technical and combative duel with Harry Winks. He eventually dominated by a long-term strike to seal the points for Leicester. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (LW) – Another turgid performance of Arsenal that lacked tactical discipline was again saved by Aubameyang.
