The Mercedes-Benz EQS could still be a few years away, but the German automaker has been working hard on the project and has just unveiled one of its innovative new designs for the luxury electric vehicle: the MBUX Hyperscreen.
Spanning 56 inches, the entire display will replace the conventional dashboard and infotainment system using 12 actuators and a series of OLEDs beneath a Gorilla Glass anti-glare touch surface, all powered by eight processor cores and 24 GB of RAM.
While this is undoubtedly a futuristic way to display everything from your speedometer to your music playlist to GPS navigation, the MBUX Hyperscreen’s main asset is its artificial intelligence capabilities. . Mercedes-Benz says the system will “proactively” suggest “the right functions at the right time” with enhanced “context awareness” by observing changes in the environment as well as user behavior. Suggested features may include calling a certain contact if they know you’re usually on the phone with them while driving, or adjusting your car’s ground clearance to suit your location.
The MBUX Hypserscreen is expected to debut with the EQS, which is slated for release between 2022 and 2023.
