Prince harry and Meghan markle continued their appearances around the Big Apple on Friday and ended up feasting on comfort food in Harlem.
Meghan, 40, and Harry, 37, visited Melba’s restaurant in Harlem, where the Duke of Sussex is said to have eaten fried chicken and waffles for the first time. The restaurant tweeted about the Sussexes’ appearance on Friday, revealing the couple also donated $ 25,000 to their COVID-19 Employee Relief Fund. The Duke and Duchess have traveled to New York for their scheduled appearance at the Global Citizen Live event on Saturday. The 24-hour event will be broadcast live from the Great Lawn in Central Park, New York. The event will feature a host of stars to promote equal access to the coronavirus vaccine to world leaders. Specifically, the campaign calls on G7 countries and the European Union to share at least 1 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine with those who need it most.
Before their lunch break on Friday, the parents of two visited a school in Harlem where they made some students cry. Meghan read her children’s book “The Bench” to students at PS 123, a school that provides shelters for students who are permanently homeless.
Meghan’s luxe outfit also made headlines as the couple toured the city on Friday. The Duchess of Sussex would have worn a Loro Piana cashmere coat, which can be found here, with a price of $ 5,840. The Duchess of Sussex gave a passionate speech which urged citizens of the world to get vaccinated and ensure COVID-19 vaccines are distributed for a “fair and compassionate tomorrow”.
