Before one of the biggest nights in the gaming industry, Prince Harry called for the ban on Fortnite because of its supposedly addictive qualities.
"This game should not be allowed.Where is the benefit of having it in your home?" Said the Duke of Sussex at an event that was held in London Thursday, his harsh words came a few hours before the 15th British Academy Games Awards.
"It is created for drug addicts, an addiction that allows you to stay in front of a computer as long as possible," he added. "It's so irresponsible."
Prince Harry then suggested Fortnite, a survival-based shooter, was responsible for the separation of families. "It's like waiting for the damage to be done and the children come to your door and the families are broken."
The 34-year-old royal family member has done little to innovate in the war on video games. The controversy surrounding video game addiction has been controversial for decades and there are many studies on both sides of the debate.

Some claim that video games have brought children to need rehab for addiction. Others, for their part, point out that only certain types of players are at risk. "The present study gives an idea of the extent to which personality traits can explain video game behavior," says a 2016 study by International Journal of Mental Health and Addiction.
Elsewhere in his comments, Prince Harry is also interested in social media. He called the media "more addictive than alcohol and drugs".
Ironically, Prince Harry and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, launched this week their official Instagram account, which they plan to exploit with a very practical approach. Their marriage, as if we could forget, was also one of the biggest events on social media of 2018.
