Prince Harry has not spoken to his father, Prince Charles, about his intention to release an explosive memoir – only letting palace officials find out when Page Six revealed the story, multiple sources tell us.
A palace source told Page Six that Charles, the heir to the throne, was “surprised” by the announcement on Monday that Harry would be releasing a book.
“Nobody knew that,” another royal insider said. “It was chaos when the Page Six story came out.”
Harry spoke out against his father in recent interviews and said this spring that Charles, 72, had “passed on to him a cycle” of “genetic pain and suffering”.

The renegade royal has already written his untitled book which will be released next year.
Although Harry has said he will donate the proceeds from his book, which will be published by Penguin Random House, to charity, royal insiders have questioned whether he will still maintain the large lead.
Those who know Harry refused to answer this question.

It is not yet clear what Harry, 36, will be covering in memories, although the book gives him the chance to speak fully about the reasons he and his wife Meghan Markle decided in 2020 to step down from royal duties, as well. than how the royal family handled the death of her mother, Princess Diana.

Although Harry is believed to have informed his grandmother the Queen about the book, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told Page Six he should not get clearance for a project like this one from Buckingham Palace.
The spokesperson added that Harry had “very recently” spoken privately with his family about the memories.
