It has been almost a year since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shocked many, including those close to them, by announcing they would step down as senior members of the British Royal Family.

They have since moved out of the UK to live in a house in Santa Barbara, California, with their son Archie, who turns 2 in May.

ITV presenter Tom Bradby, best known for his documentary on Harry and Meghan’s tour of South Africa and a friend of the couple, opens up in more detail on the royal rift. Although the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appear more ‘satisfied’ today than they were two years ago, Bradby says the couple’s departure has taken a toll on all members of the Royal Family , including Harry.

“I think they’re feeling better, yeah,” Bradby told ITV’s “Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh” via People. “So are they unhappy? No, I think they’re happy. The things they’re doing are very excited.”

Bradby has confirmed rumors of a split between Harry and the rest of his family – but insists that doesn’t mean he doesn’t find happiness with his wife and son in the United States.

“The situation with the family is clearly not ideal, and it has been a very difficult year for all of them. But are they unhappy there? No, I don’t think that’s true, I think they are pretty happy actually, but I think they struggle with their position in life, I think they all do. [Prince] William too. I don’t think he finds it easy, ”added Bradby, according to the report.

Bradby’s interview with Titchmarsh is scheduled to air on Sunday. The reporter went on to share that this year has been “incredibly painful” for the Royal Family, considering Meghan and Harry’s move.

In his next interview, Bradby says it’s important to remember that besides being a family, the British Royal Family is also, in a way, a “business”.

“They work in the public service on a very high and exposed platform and to some extent they’re all locked in there together. And that creates a lot of tension that people maybe see quite clearly from the outside, but at the same time. the time when they’re trying to become a family and I’m still very much aware of that and how complicated and downright difficult it is, ”he said.
