Prince Harry appeared yesterday to avoid Donald Trump, after the US leader called his wife Meghan "naughty".

The queen unrolled the president's red carpet at Buckingham Palace at the start of her three-day state visit.

But Harry, 34, looked as grumpy as he could.

Meghan had backed Trump's Democratic rival, Hilary Clinton, in the 2016 election, and had announced that she would go to Canada in case of victory.

In an exclusive interview given to the Sun prior to his visit, President Trump heard about these remarks and stated that he did not know that she was naughty, but that she would be a "very good" princess.

His wife and himself, Melania, landed at Stansted Airport, Essex, at 8:56 am after a night flight on Air Force One departing from Washington DC.

They then boarded the Marine One helicopter and were airlifted to central London where they landed at 12:12 on the palace lawn.

Harry attended the private luncheon with Donald and First Lady Melania, but on a visit to Her Majesty's private art collection, he stayed away and did not want to be photographed with any of the guests.

He came in with President Ivanka's daughter, but left her to speak to the Lord Chamberlain while the Queen was showing Trumps with Prince Charles following him.

A spectator said, "Harry was the third oldest royal in the room after the queen and his father, but he did not seem to be taking part in his royal duties."

Royal commentator Ingrid Seward said, "Harry looked grumpy and as if he did not want to be here.

"He seems to be behaving rather immature and let his personal animosity take over his natural good manners.
