Prince Harry writes memoirs about his life in the royal family

Get ready for the most explosive book of the decade. Page Six has learned that Prince Harry has been secretly writing a memoir for almost a year and sold it to Penguin Random House.

Insiders tell us that Harry – whose schism with the British royal family rocked the institution and created a cultural storm on both sides of the Atlantic – worked on the book with the powerful negro JR Moehringer.

Pulitzer winner Moehringer has previously written memoirs for tennis legend Andre Agassi and Nike co-founder Phil Knight, as well as his own autobiography, “The Tender Bar”, which is being transformed. in a film by George Clooney.

We’re told a manuscript was due in August, but as the lives of Harry and his wife Meghan Markle continue to be engulfed in a whirlwind of drama, the deadline for the Burning Tome has been pushed back to October.

But we are told that the first draft is almost entirely written.

An editor’s blurb, seen by Page Six, says: “In an intimate and heartfelt memoir of one of the most fascinating and influential global figures of our time, Prince Harry will share, for the very first time times, the definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses and life lessons that helped shape it.

He says the book will cover “his life in the public eye from childhood to the present day, including his dedication to service, the military duty that twice brought him to the front lines of Afghanistan, and the joy he found in being a husband and father “and promises” an honest and captivating personal portrait “.

Transworld, a brand of Penguin Random House UK, will release the book in the UK. It will also be published as an audiobook.

The release date for this publication is tentatively scheduled for the end of 2022.

It is not yet clear what the advance was (arguably vast), but according to the publisher, Harry, 36, will donate the proceeds to charity – despite the fact that he recently signed lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify.

It’s unclear exactly what the book will cover.

But if the draft gives the Duke of Sussex an unfettered opportunity to give his side of the story of “Megxit” – the couple’s decision to step down from royal duties – or settle the score on how the death of his mother, Princess Diana, was run by the royal family, he will undoubtedly make history.

Other topics that would leave Britons and Americans claiming the inside scoop could include his infamous decision to wear a Nazi uniform to a Halloween party in 2005 and the tortured relationship with his father, Prince Charles.

“Insiders are already discussing how much he will detail his family after a huge row with William and accusing William and Charles of being trapped in their roles in Oprah’s explosive interview,” a source said. “He last saw William a few weeks ago during the unveiling of the statue of Diana where, despite a shared laugh with William, he hopped on a plane that afternoon to return home.”
