Priyanka Chopra announces she will open Indian restaurant in New York: ‘I am delighted to introduce you to SONA’
Priyanka Chopra has announced that she will be opening a restaurant called SONA in New York City at the end of March.
The 38-year-old actress took the news to the public by posting a trio of images on her Instagram account on Saturday.
The former Miss World wrote a long message in the caption of the post in which she expressed her enthusiasm for her new venture.

Chopra began her post by writing: “I am delighted to introduce SONA, a new restaurant in New York where I have spread my love for Indian cuisine.
She then explained the concept of her restaurant and noted that “SONA is the very embodiment of timeless India and the flavors I grew up with”.
The Isn’t It Romantic actress emphasized that she aimed to take diners “ on a gastronomic journey through my amazing country. ”

On the same day, Chopra’s business partner Maneesh K. Goyal posted on his own Instagram account to make his feelings known about the soon-to-open restaurant.
The restaurateur pointed out that SONA had not been planned by one particular person and wrote that “opening a restaurant is a team effort for sure”.
He then spoke of Chopra’s dedication to providing a space for his culture to be appreciated, writing that “There is no one who better – and more boldly – personifies ‘the World Indian’ than Pri.”
Goyal also noted that Chopra was very practical during the development of the restaurant concept.
“From the design, to the menu, to the music, to the name, Priyanka has her fingerprints all over SONA,” he wrote.

In addition to her recent efforts as a conservator, Chopra has several film projects currently in the works.
The actress is set to lead the cast of the upcoming romantic drama Text for You, which will see her star alongside Outlander star Sam Heughan, as well as singer Celine Dion.
Principal photography for the project began in October 2020 and went into post-production this year.
The entertainment industry figure has also been added to the cast of the upcoming Matrix movie; its role has not yet been specified.
Although the feature was originally slated for release in May this year, it was pushed back to December 2022 before its premiere date was pushed back to December 22 of this year.
