Lin Wood, a lawyer fighting for President Donald Trump’s victory in the 2020 election, sounded the alarm after calling on Vice President Mike Pence to top the list of treason arrests.
Wood, a staunch supporter of Trump’s victory, moved from Democrats to Republicans, calling on Pence to step down and face “execution by firing squad” in a tweet Friday. Once arrested, Wood suggested the Vice President would “sign like a bird” and confess to being a “main participant” in the “election flight”.
The Atlanta attorney’s controversial comments prompted people to tag the FBI and Secret Service in the reply tweets, claiming Wood’s tweets posed a threat to the vice president.

Under Title 18 of the United States Code, threatening to kill, kidnap, or cause bodily harm to the vice president is punishable by a fine, up to five years in prison, or both.
Pence is expected to chair the certification of the electoral college results on Wednesday, as is the role of the vice president. Some Trump supporters are hopeful that Pence refuses to introduce voters for President-elect Joe Biden in major swing states, blocking his rise to the presidency.
Texas GOP congressman Louie Gohmert has filed a lawsuit against Pence, alleging the vice president has complete discretion in determining which voters are counted. Judge Jeremy Kernodle dismissed the complaint on Friday, saying the plaintiffs did not have grounds to file it.

Republicans plan to oppose the electoral vote count – a move that has little or no chance of success – and Pence faces pressure to refuse to certify the results. If the vice president refuses to publicly commit to rejecting voters in “states where the fraud took place,” Wood said he should “resign immediately.”
“A man of God would never certify a lie,” Wood said on Twitter Friday. “Every lie will be revealed. Every lie means every lie. Always. It always will be.”
Wood’s legal battles are independent of the ongoing struggle of the President’s own legal team. Jenna Ellis, one of the president’s attorneys, distanced himself from the Atlanta attorney. Ellis posted on Twitter Friday that she did not support Wood’s statements, but supported “the rule of law and the US Constitution.”
“For the conservatives, the solution is never to ignore the Constitution and the rule of law simply because the other party is. The solution is to continue to fight to apply it well,” a- she wrote on Twitter the next morning. “The principle of limited government is at the heart of freedom.”
Wood dismissed people who called him “crazy” and urged officials to arrest him as having an “agenda” and hinted that they might have something to hide or want the truth to be kept hidden.
