Prodigy unveils its opening title streak spanning the entire galaxy

Oscar winner Michael Giacchino marks the theme of the Star Trek: Prodigy series opening title sequence on Paramount +.

The opening title sequence of Star Trek: Prodigy proudly takes viewers to new galaxies for the Paramount + streaming series.

Star Trek: ProdigyThe show’s opening was revealed by executive producers Kevin and Dan Hageman during the Television Critics Association (TCA) virtual presentation of the show. The score for the one minute and 33 second opener comes from Oscar winner Michael Giacchino. Music for Prodigy is by Nami Melumad (An American pickle, Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, Absence).

“I am delighted to have had the opportunity to write the main theme for Kevin and Dan’s latest project, and as always, I am delighted to be a part of Star Trek family, “said Michael Giacchino.” I am especially looking forward to everyone hearing the incredible work of composer Nami Melumad, who will take the reins of composing the episodes. Not only is she extremely talented, she is a real Star Trek fan.”


The TCA panel also included voice cast members Kate Mulgrew (Hologram Janeway), Brett Gray (Dal), Ella Purnell (Gwyn), John Noble (The Diviner) and Jimmi Simpson (Drednok); executive producers Kevin and Dan Hageman, Alex Kurtzman and Heather Kadin; director / co-executive producer Ben Hibon; and president of Nickelodeon Animation Ramsey Naito.

The CG-animated series marks the first time that the popular Star Trek franchise has addressed a younger audience and follows a motley team of young aliens trying to figure out how to work together, while roaming a larger galaxy in search of them. a better future. Comically, they don’t know anything about the ship they are traveling in, although over time they will discover Starfleet and its ideals.

Star Trek: Prodigy debuts this fall on Paramount +.
