Project C is an open-world online game created by Assassin's Creed and Half-Life 2.

Darewise Entertainment wants to create a different kind of online game and hopes to be able to try it out by like-minded players. The developer is ready to let people play Project C, the code name for his massive third-person open world multiplayer game, in a pre-alpha PC state from next week.

Built on Unreal Engine 4, Project C takes place on Corvus, an abandoned planet teeming with wildlife, technologies and exotic natural resources. Instead of following a scripted story, the game encourages players to collaborate with each other to form clans and support a player-driven economy. The collection of resources will help your clan to establish settlements and you will be able to fight or exchange with other players (everyone will play in the same world).

Darewise's goal is to have a persistent world that reacts dynamically to player activity. He uses artificial intelligence to populate Corvus with a variety of plants and animals. The studio is also working with Improbable to use its SpatialOS cloud-based technology, which helps developers create complex online worlds.

Project C will not have a class, so it's up to you to decide how you want to play. In addition to building bases, you must use the resources you have found to make tools, weapons, consumables and vehicles.

Darewise said he would hold several game tests in the coming weeks as he wanted to see how players would react to the open nature of the game and whether they could work together to build a multi-part building. To participate in the pre-alpha, you must complete a short survey here. If approved, Darewise will arrange with you a 10 minute call to give you more information about the game.

By including players early in the development process, the studio hopes to create a positive and engaged community around the C project. The team will also assist players on the Discord server of the C project community.

Founded in 2018 in Paris, Darewise is made up of former triple-A developers from studios such as Ubisoft (including CEO Benjamin Charbit, former director of Assassin's Creed), Valve and Rockstar Games. Most of its funding comes from the French government and venture capital firms Kima Ventures and Serena Capital. The company has 30 employees.

"Players are always at the center of an exceptional multiplayer gaming experience, which is why we invite a select group of players to join Project C at such an early stage of development," said Charbit in a communicated. "The greatest adventures take place with friends and this is the true ambition of Project C: to provide players with a truly dynamic gaming experience in the open world, in which they can play and compete."
