Anti-Trump activist who once said he wanted to “tear” president from office walked into Capitol Hill on Wednesday alongside a crowd of pro-Trump protesters, but said he was right there to “document” it.

Insurgence USA describes itself as “the revolution”. He began protesting racial injustice in the police force last year after George Floyd died in custody in Minneapolis.

Sullivan told Fox News he didn’t notice other leftist activists inside the building. But he added that he couldn’t know for sure without talking to each one individually.
“In terms of understanding who is in the crowd, based on being present at protests often … I did not see anyone who was originally involved in the BLM protests,” he said. he declared.
Sullivan says he was standing near Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt when she was shot in the Capitol, and a video appears to show him at the scene.

Sullivan told Fox News he regularly attends protests to record what was going on, including a clash involving Proud Boys on Tuesday near DC’s Black Lives Matter Plaza.
“It’s just about recording, only and not being active there,” he said, although he was reportedly arrested for protests in Utah over the summer and admitted to having climbed into the Capitol through a window.
Its group Insurgence USA’s website announced an event called “Kick These Fascists out of DC” on Wednesday, around the same time as a pro-Trump rally near the National Mall.

After Trump’s rally, crowds of protesters entered the Capitol, ransacked Congressional offices and stormed the Senate floor, sparking a chorus of condemnations from members of both main parties. The breach interrupted a joint session of Congress aimed at validating Joe Biden as president-elect. Congress met again later in the evening and completed the process.
Sullivan tweeted several videos taken inside the Capitol on Wednesday. One contained a close-up view of the fatal shooting of Babbitt, an Air Force veteran, at a barricaded gate of the Capitol. Police later said she was shot dead by a policeman.
Interim U.S. District of Columbia Attorney Michael Sherwin announced a series of chaos-related charges on Thursday, including weapons possession, assault and theft, and said more will come.

Sullivan’s arrest in Utah was linked to a protest where another protester allegedly shot at a passing motorist during a confrontation, according to Deseret News.
