A new month means a new batch of free PlayStation Plus games for subscribers, and the December line of PS Plus titles are available now. This month, PS Plus members can still claim Bugsnax on PS5 as well as new PS4 giveaways including an explosion-filled AAA open world game with competitive shooter and strategy play.
Just Cause 4 is the latest open-world action-adventure game from Avalanche Studios, immersing longtime hero Rico in a South American country often subject to horrific storms and even tornadoes. As with previous games in the series, you can destroy almost anything and create really mind-blowing situations through your gadgets.
Also free is Rocket arena, a competitive 3v3 shooter game featuring several different heroes with an emphasis on dodge and marksmanship. The game received little fanfare when it released earlier this year, but reviewer Alessandro Barbosa had fun with his rocket jumps and various abilities in our Rocket Arena review.
The last new free game for December is Roar of worms, which hasn’t even been officially released yet. The latest game in the classic strategy series, it’s also the first game to feature real-time combat. Up to 32 players can compete online, and the game even supports cross-play multiplayer if your friends are on other platforms.

While all three of these new games are PS4 games, they are playable on PS5. The recently launched next-gen console can play the vast majority of PS4 games, often with improvements that vary from title to title. Reduced load times are commonplace, but you can also get more stable frame rates and increased resolutions, depending on how the game was designed.
The December PS Plus games below are up for grabs now – you have until January 4 to add them to your account.
