Sony announced the September PlayStation Plus games, and they … Well, it's a rather heavy month. The two PlayStation 4 titles in September are Batman: Arkham Knight and Darksiders III. Both games will be available for download from September 3rd.
We rather liked Arkham Knight during its launch in 2015, which gives it an 8/10 in our review:
Right off the bat, we know it's the end for our capped companion, but it's hard to feel completely comfortable with his call to the curtain. Many elements are perfectly adjusted, such as Gotham's fluid combat, deep character design and grim landscapes, but there are also a handful of elements that are still in their infancy. The Batmobile is great, to a very special point where it quickly becomes a burden that makes the immersion decline, while the story is sometimes so cliché that you often expect a "prisoner of war" to appear screen. It's a top-notch game that plays brilliantly and is definitely in a category apart from Arkham training for the most part, but it just does not leave your mouth open as Arkham City seemed to succeed with such ease and finesse.
We were less sold on Darksiders III, giving him a 6/10, while continuing to enjoy his fight and his characters:
Darksiders has not changed much since 2012. It's still a fun mix of genres with a big protagonist and undemanding fighting systems, but it's a pity that it's outdated in relation to its peers and that it stumbles when it injects sensibilities similar to those of Souls.
