PS4 players cannot compare certain trophy lists with PS5 profiles

Here’s a little thing we noticed during the PlayStation 5 review process: We currently cannot display the trophy lists for games that have been released on the new console from a PlayStation 4 system. When you compare trophies, these new titles appear blank with no information on what the PS5 user has done. We thought this morning’s new PS4 firmware update would fix the problem, but it doesn’t.

The image above explains the problem. Push Square editor Sammy Barker has played the likes of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Demon’s Souls, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure via native PS5 versions. Additionally, it has also checked Slide Stars (a PlayStation 4 game via backward compatibility) and it also doesn’t display correctly. As such, it looks like any game you start on PS5 won’t see its trophy lists show up on PS4 consoles for comparison purposes just yet. In fact, the game icons themselves don’t even appear on the profiles. We have confirmed that all privacy settings are set to open and also tested the feature on different profiles.
