PS5 gets a second performance-improving system update

For the second week in a row, Sony has released a PS5 system update designed to improve system performance – but it’s still unclear what the patch specifically changes. 20.02-02.26.00 system update weighs 886 MB and, like last week’s update, its details simply read: “This system software update improves system performance.”

If you want to download the update manually, go to: Settings> System> System software> System software update and settings> Update system software.Sony does not traditionally comment on the content of its system updates, nor has it responded to requests for comment on recent fixes.

Last week’s hotfix appeared to help resolve the download queue bug that had been affecting PS5 players since launch. We may now see new fixes for the other PS5 issues that have been reported in recent weeks, although nothing has been confirmed at the time of writing.
