Based on this new analysis, the PS5 version could have used a bit more optimization and, oddly enough, it lacks Ray Tracing on the Sony console.

While the Xbox Series X version partially used the rendering technique for ambient occlusion and reflections, this is not the case on PS5.

Also, the game doesn’t seem to run as stable as it does on Xbox Series X with more stuttering on PS5 at 30FPS.

Fortunately, it’s not that bad on PS5 – due to the lack of Ray Tracing, the team was able to increase the dynamic resolution of the game on the Sony console with the resolution remaining above 1260p in areas. demanding. Additionally, anisotropic filtering has been slightly improved on PS5 compared to the XSX version. Check out the new comparison below:

  • The PS5 does not use any type of ray tracing. In the X-series they implemented ray tracing (partially) in ambient occlusion and reflections, but in the PS5 they removed all of that (the S-series didn’t have an RT either)
  • The lighting and ambient occlusion on PS5 have been changed a bit (in places giving good results and in others not so good). In the start area, for example, they changed the direction of the light, completely changing the lighting in the rooms.
  • By sacrificing RT, they were given the opportunity to increase the resolution on PS5. It operates in dynamic 4K like the X series, but doesn’t have peaks as low as those achieved by Microsoft’s console. In areas where the X Series has dropped below 1080p, the PS5 stays above 1260p.
  • In terms of performance, the PS5 suffers from more stuttering than the Xbox (especially in cinematic) at 30FPS
  • Shadows on PS5 have also undergone changes. In some areas the shadows look harsher than on other platforms (especially outdoors).
  • Anisotropic filtering is slightly improved on PS5 compared to the X series.
  • The textures are of the same quality in all versions.
  • On PC, some parameters such as DOF, parallax occlusion, ray-tracing or drawing distance are always higher than the rest of the versions.
  • Load times are twice as fast on Xbox Series compared to PS5. However, the PS5 loads textures faster at startup.

Support is now available worldwide for Xbox Series X | S and PC (it’s also on Xbox Game Pass). The title will be released tomorrow on PS5.
